“Give Blood. Give Life.” This was the tag line used to encourage SWRHA staff to donate blood at the SFGH Blood Bank’s Staff Blood Donation Drive, held on Saturday 13^th April. Staff were warmly greeted by the nurses at the Blood Bank, sensitised through discussion and with educational material which provided details regarding what each person can expect when visiting the Blood Bank, the interview process, tips for a successful blood donation and responses to frequently asked questions.

The Emergency Department, San Fernando General Hospital, hosted an ECG (Electrocardiogram) Training Workshop - Basic Level on April 9th, 2019 for front-line trauma staff. The session was facilitated by Dr. Saleem Varachhia who indicated that it was about creating an awareness and an understanding about the concept of ECG and its importance in making diagnosis, determining treatment and eventually saving lives.

The Community Liaison Unit hosted its 11^th annual Diabetes Easter Camp on April 8th and 9th, 2019 at the San Fernando General Hospital for the children of the South-West Life Changers Youth Group and their parents. This two-day camp addressed health issues that could affect young people with Diabetes Mellitus.

Members of the Rotary Club of San Fernando South, with their President Mr. Kennedy Flemming, visited San Fernando General Hospital on April 7^th, 2019. The group of seven rotarians, accompanied by Ms. Annette Bristol-Martin, PCC, Dr. Arlette Khan from the Neonatal Unit and Ms. Stacie Borrell, Executive Secretary toured the area adjacent to the Neonatal Unit. The Club donated a Frigidaire refrigerator which will be used in the Neonatal Unit.
