On Thursday 8th March, 2018, the South-West Regional Health Authority achieved a major milestone by signing the Daily Rated Establishments for daily rated workers of the Authority for the period 01/01/2015 to 31/12/2016 with the National Union for Government and Federated Workers (NUGFW).
An article commending staff from the Orthopaedic Department for performing surgery to repair an injury to the knee of former T&T National Youth and Senior Team midfielder, Jean-Luc Rochford, was posted on the website of Wired 868, a local online sports newspaper on Thursday 15th March, 2018. The article, entitled “Overjoyed Rochford gets ACL repair; ex-World Youth Cup player gets surgery at San F’do General”, was written by Mr. Amiel Mohammed. The article reads:

Update on repairs at Burns Unit
San Fernando, March 13th, 2018. The South-West Regional Health Authority wishes to update the public following the collapse of the ceiling at the Burns Unit at the San Fernando General Hospital. The Burns’ Unit ceiling was assessed on the morning of March 10th, 2018 by our Property Services Department.
