Over eighty families received keys to their new homes at the Housing Development Corporation - HDC's Housing Distribution Ceremony on Saturday 9th December, 2017 at Omardeen's School of Accounting, San Fernando. Using an information booth, the SWRHA took the opportunity to inform the new home owners about the health care services available in their communities.

Patients are urged to access the Emergency Department via the Out Patient Pharmacy Entrance. Non-urgent cases are reminded that they can also visit the nearest extended hours health centre at Penal and Fyzabad. The South-West Regional Health Authority joins the global community in recognising World AIDS Day 2107. The theme of the World Health Organisation World AIDS Day 2017 campaign is Everybody Counts. It focuses on building a united response to HIV and AIDS worldwide. At the end of 2016, the WHO estimated that there were 36.7 million worldwide living with HIV. In Trinidad and Tobago, UNAIDS estimated some 11,000 persons living with HIV. Here at the South West Regional Health Authority we have many dedicated teams that work in tandem in the delivery of quality healthcare in our region. One such department is the Central Sterilization Services Department whose principal aim is to provide users with articles like dressing materials and instruments that are sterile, free from germs.
