Please be advised that effective Sunday 5th November, 2017, the Labour Ward will be temporarily relocated to the Northern side of the 3rd Floor, San Fernando General Hospital. 

For ease of access persons can also use the Harris Promenade entrance.

​The Department of Urology at the South-West Regional Health Authority, together with IVUMed and the Société Internationale d’Urologie, will be hosting two urology surgical workshops at the San Fernando General Hospital. These workshops will take place from October 31st  to November 4th, and from November 6th to 8th, 2017. Persons such as Professor Arthur L. Burnett II from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, and Dr Kurt McCammon from the Eastern Virginia Medical School will conduct the first and second workshops respectively.

In celebration of World Mental Health Day the public is invited to join with the Staff of the Moruga Health Centre on a walk for mental health awareness on Friday 27th October, 2017. The walk starts at 6:30 a.m. from the Basseterre Community Centre and will end at Grand Chemin Recreation Ground. Come and help reduce discrimination and stigmatization of persons with mental illness in families and the wider community.  
Cancer Awareness Day Focusing on Breast and Cervical Cancer

On Wednesday 12th October 2016, the health care professionals at the Princes Town Primary Health Care Department conducted health education lectures on Breast and Cervical Cancer for patients of the community.

This was done in support of the Cancer Awareness month “October”.

Approximately fifty (50) antenatal and chronic disease clients attended. Women were encouraged to perform self-breast examinations and made aware of what abnormal changes looked like, so that they could notify their doctor and seek treatment early.

All staff and public are invited to celebrate Massage and Bodywork Professionals Health Awareness Week with the Caribbean Association of Massage and Bodywork Practitioners from Monday 23rd October, 2017. Their team of qualified massage therapists will be on hand at the SFGH Foyer from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to offer free chair massages and provide consultation on the therapeutic benefits of and conditions treatable with massage.

The staff at the Moruga Health Centre will be hosting a Mental Health Workshop on October 20th, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. for professionals in the Moruga community as part of the Centre’s World Mental Health Day observance under the theme Mental Health in the Workplace.
Temporary closure of Erin, Todd's Road and Penal Rock Road Health Centres
