Improved Service for you!

As the SWRHA continues to enhance our services, please be advised that the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Service has been temporarily suspended for maintenance and upgrade of the unit. Maintenance is expected to be completed by December 2017.

The Unit will be upgraded with Tim (Total Imaging Matrix) technology. Some of the major benefits include:

Radiology Services at Siparia DHF Temporarily Suspended

The South-West Regional Health Authority wishes to advise that Radiology Services at the Siparia District Health Facility will be temporarily suspended on Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th November, 2017 to facilitate maintenance of the X-ray unit. Services will resume on Friday 17th November, 2017.

The South-West Regional Health Authority apologises for any inconvenience caused but this has become necessary to improve services provided.

Water Safety

During a flood, water for household use may become contaminated with bacteria, viruses and other organisms that can spread diseases and make you and your family very sick.

This applies to treated and untreated water sources (streams, springs, wells).

  • Take precautions to ensure that water is safe to consume.
  • Boil all drinking water that may have come into contact with flood waters.
  • Bring the water to a complete rolling boil and then leave it to boil for an extra 5 minutes.

Port-of-Spain, November 13th, 2017: The Ministry of Heath continues to urge members of the public to take the necessary steps to avoid the health risks associated with flooding. Flood waters may carry silt, raw sewage and bacteria that can contaminate food and water and make it unsafe.
