In 1880 Prince Albert and Prince George visited the small village of (then) Mission de Savanna Grande and planted two Pouis trees within the St Stephen’s Anglican Church yard to commemorate their visit. These trees are markers that record the exact moment the Mission de Savanna Grande, was renamed Princes Town. San Fernando, January 21, 2018: The South-West Regional Health Authority advises that earlier this morning, a leak was discovered above the Nurses Station at the General Surgical Ward (Ward 7) of the San Fernando General Hospital extension. This caused some of the rooms to become flooded. Immediately, the Engineering and Maintenance teams were dispatched to identify and remedy the problem. High commendations were extended to the Princes Town Emergency Department via a Christmas card from a client who resides in Ontario, Canada. The card reads;
“I fainted at a funeral and I was brought to the facility by a very professional staff operating the ambulance. Then at the facility itself every staff member I met and those who attended to me were so on the ball and professional. To tell the truth, I didn’t know such a facility existed in Princes Town, modern, clean, up to date, with great patient service.
The Management and staff of the South West Regional Health Authority extends Season’s Greetings to you and your family. As we celebrate with friends and loved ones let us take this opportunity to appreciate the simple things that life has offered us and remember the true meaning of the season.
