The South-West Regional Health Authority’s Public Board Meeting was held at the San Fernando City Hall Auditorium, Harris Promenade on Wednesday 29th March, 2017. Dr. Alexander Sinanan, Chairman of the SWRHA Board of Directors highlighted initiatives undertaken to strengthen processes and systems geared towards improving the quality of healthcare at the SWRHA. Mr. Anil Gosine, Chief Executive Officer, reviewed the organisation’s main activities and key accomplishments during the fiscal period 2015/2016 and presented the core strategic priorities and plans for 2017.

The Medical Social Work Department celebrates World Social Work Day on Tuesday 21st March, 2017. This year's theme is "Promoting Community and Environmental Sustainability". You are invited to visit the MSW Main Department at the San Fernando General Hospital between the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon to learn more about the services and functions of the agency. 

On Tuesday 21st March the SWRHA Specialist Community Paediatric Clinics will participate in the Down Syndrome Family Network’s World Down Syndrome Day conference at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. The theme for this conference is My Voice My Community – Speak up, Be Heard, Be an Influence. The SWRHA team will be presenting an overview of Community Paediatrics and an Audit pertaining to health supervision for children with Down Syndrome. 

The Renal Department (Haemodialysis Unit, Nephrology, and Urology Department) at the San Fernando General Hospital celebrated World Kidney Day by hosting an outreach on March 13^th, 2019 under the theme Kidney health for everyone everywhere. They joined with their international counterparts to raise awareness of the important function of kidneys and leading a healthy lifestyle.
