Ten (10) RN`s from different wards within the hospital took part in the 7th ICU in house training programme which took place during the period September 26th to December 7th 2018-(10 weeks). The programme was used as a tool to better equip the nurses in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and High Dependency Unit (HDU) to enhance the quality of service given to the patients under their care.
The SWRHA continues to play an integral role in the prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS. In recognition of World AIDS Day, the SWRHA in collaboration with the Ministry of Heath’s HIV/AIDS Coordinating Unit (HACU) hosted an Outreach Caravan at the San Fernando Licencing Office. A dozen members of staff were on hand to provide rapid testing and encourage people to “Know their Status.” Counselling was also provided about how to maintain a negative status or how to seek treatment for a positive result.
Kindly note that Pharmacy Services at the Freeport Health Centre will be unavailable on Saturday 8th December 2018 only. Pharmaceutical needs will be re-routed to the Couva District Health Facility during this period. All other services will be available during Extended Hours on that day.
