The Annual Carnival Celebration at the Couva Extended Care Centre will take place on Friday 5th February, 2016 from 9:00 am to 12:00pm. Staff and clients from the Point Fortin ECC will also participate in this year’s event, which is geared toward showcasing clients’ talents and fostering a spirit of camaraderie between both ECCs. The day’s activities will include a calypso competition and a “jump up” session.

  The Ste. Madeleine Health Centre will launch their Lamaze and Antenatal Educational Classes on Wednesday 3rd February, 2016.   During the month of January, the staff at the Penal Health Centre will be hosting a lecture discussions titled the “Introduction of Semi-Solids” during their Child Health Clinic. These lectures will be presented by Ms. Kyrie-Aarti Homer, Dietician, and are aimed at educating mothers on the importance of semi-solids and the need to gradually introduce their babies to semi-solids. Staff from the St. Patrick East’s Primary Care Nurse Manager’s Office will partner with the Ministry of Community Development to host a workshop entitled “Know Your Status” on Friday 29th January, 2016 at the Siparia Administration Complex. The workshop will include lecture and discussions on HIV. Educational material will be distributed and persons can receive standard diagnostic, blood pressure and blood sugar tests. SWRHA welcomes New Board of Directors

The South-West Regional Health Authority welcomed its new Board of Directors on Friday 15th January, 2016. Eight directors received their instruments of appointment from the Honourable Terrence Deyalsingh, Minister of Health, at the formal installation ceremony at the Eric Williams Medical Science Complex.

Minister of Health visits Paediatric Wards at SFTH

The Honourable Minister of Health, Terrance Deyalsingh, brought Christmas cheer to the children on the Paediatric Wards at the San Fernando Teaching Hospital, when he paid a surprise visit to the hospital on Tuesday 22nd December, 2015. Minister Deyalsingh interacted with staff and presented gifts to approximately 40 children.
