The staff of the Penal Health Centre will continue to observe Cancer Awareness Month by continuing their lecture series and cancer screenings on Tuesday 25th October, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. The topics for discussion will be: Menopause; Cancer and women who are at risk; Management of stress; and family planning. Screenings will include: breast examinations and pap smears.

From Monday 17th to Friday 21st October, 2016 the Pharmacy Department at the Couva DHF will be celebrating Pharmacy Week with daily activities from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. These educational sessions will be interactive and geared towards providing clients with a clearer understanding in several key areas such as: Diabetes management; Arthritis and pain management; understanding prescriptions and counselling clients on their medication.

The staff at the Roy Joseph Health Centre will observe Cancer Awareness Month by hosting a week of open house cancer screenings from Monday 17th to Friday 21st October, 2016. Daily testing will include: Pap smears, breast examinations, Digital Prostate Test and HIV test.

To commemorate Cancer Awareness Month a cancer sensitization programme will be held at the Gran Couva Health Centre on Thursday 20th October, 2016. The focus of this session will seek to increase awareness and encourage individuals to adopt healthy lifestyle habits aimed at reducing incidences of cancer.

The staff of the Tabaquite health Centre will conduct a lecture and discussion, on Thursday 20th October, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon, to promote the importance of proper dental care and encourage persons to develop positive attitudes towards better oral hygiene.

On Tuesday 18th October, 2016 the Siparia Health Centre will observe Cancer Awareness Month by holding lecture sessions and screenings from 10:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. The discourse will cover Cancer and the family - who should be screened. Testing will include: breast examination, pap smears and family planning.
