On Thursday 1st December, 2016 the Primary Health Care Department at the Princes Town District Health Facility will be hosting a World AIDS Day Community Youth Awareness programme from 9:00 a.m. This educational session for youths seeks to increase awareness about HIV/AIDS – its methods of spread and prevention. Persons will have an opportunity to gain knowledge and get HIV testing done.  

The Penal Health Centre will be observing World AIDS Day on Thursday 1st December, 2016. The public is invited to attend the open day from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and they will have access to HIV screening and consultation and HIV/AIDS education sessions which include: Lectures, videos on HIV/AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs).  

The public is invited to join the Ward 2 Clinic as they commemorate World AIDS Day with an HIV/AIDS sensitisation outreach at the San Fernando General Hospital Foyer on Thursday 1st December, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. There will be free rapid HIV testing, distribution of educational materials and demonstrations on the proper use of condoms. 

The Palo Seco Health Centre will commemorate Chronic Disease Awareness Month with lectures and general health screenings on Wednesday 16th November, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 11: 30 a.m. Clients will have an opportunity to learn about Management of diabetes and hypertension and they will also be able to get routine screening for: Blood Pressure, blood glucose, BMI, Lipid Profile/HbA1c.

The public is invited to attend World Diabetes Day celebrations at the San Fernando General and Teaching Hospitals on Tuesday 15th November, 2016 from 7:30 a.m. This celebration hosted by the Community Liaison Unit will include: a walk around the hospital compound starting at the SFGH foyer at 7:30 a.m. followed by an aerobic burnout at the Foyer and a health fair at the SFTH from 9:30 a.m. Visitors will be able to access free testing for blood glucose and blood pressure, BMI and nutrition consultation.

The Couva District Health Facility (CDHF) in collaboration with the Caribbean Lifestyle Diabetes Centre and the Zaheer Ali Foundation will be observing World Diabetes Day on Monday 14th November, 2016 From 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Couva South Constituency Hall (Opposite the CDHF). The public is invited to attend the mini symposium and health fair.

Living with Diabetes is a lecture and discussion session that will be hosted by the staff of the Pleasantville Health Centre on Monday 14th November, 2016 to commemorate World Diabetes Day. The session will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. to address members of the community on key diabetic issues: What is diabetes? How it affects the body and the methods for self-managing this disease.
