In keeping with this season of giving, the Quality Improvement Unit (QIU) at the Siparia District Health Facility (SDHF), coordinated a food drive during December 2016. The drive was focused on helping less privileged persons during the Christmas season. Hampers filled with a variety of food items and toys- donated by SDHF staff members- were distributed to two families on December 23rd, 2016 by the Siparia DHF, Quality Improvement Unit (QIU).

Approximately 150 parents and children gathered on RC Level, San Fernando Teaching Hospital on December 21st for the 8th annual Medical and Surgical Outpatient Clinic Christmas Party for the paediatric clients attending Outpatient Clinics. “This party grew from love. Children often see the nurses and doctors as persons who inflict pain. In order to bring love to the children and show them the love doctors and nurses have for them… we decided to have a Christmas treat for the children who visit the clinics,” said founder, Ms. Paula Quamina-Richardson, Registered Nurse.
