An article commending staff from the Orthopaedic Department for performing surgery to repair an injury to the knee of former T&T National Youth and Senior Team midfielder, Jean-Luc Rochford, was posted on the website of Wired 868, a local online sports newspaper on Thursday 15th March, 2018. The article, entitled “Overjoyed Rochford gets ACL repair; ex-World Youth Cup player gets surgery at San F’do General”, was written by Mr. Amiel Mohammed. The article reads:

Mr. Reynold Ali of Ontario, Canada expressed his gratitude and commendation for service excellence delivered to his mother during her stay at the San Fernando Teaching Hospital, Female Medical Ward on Level 13. Mr. Ali wrote:   I Reynold Ali write this letter on behalf of my 87 year old mother, Mary Ali, who was hospitalized on Level 13 (Teaching Hospital). Ms. Ali eventually passed on Boxing Day 2017.

A letter of commendation was extended to the Oncology Department of the San Fernando General Hospital via a letter to the Express Newspaper dated Sunday 25th February, 2018. The Letter reads: Please allow me space to make my observations known since as a people, When we are dissatisfied with a service, everyone will know; however, great service is hardly or never recognised.

REJECTED by the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex (EWMSC) in Mt Hope, for her daughter who is afflicted with Downs Syndrome and who developed scars on the cornea of her right eye, a Tunapuna mother yesterday thanked a medical team of the San Fernando General Hospital who performed ground-breaking cornea transplant surgery which saved the patient’s eyesight. High commendations were extended to the Princes Town Emergency Department via a Christmas card from a client who resides in Ontario, Canada. The card reads;   “I fainted at a funeral and I was brought to the facility by a very professional staff operating the ambulance. Then at the facility itself every staff member I met and those who attended to me were so on the ball and professional. To tell the truth, I didn’t know such a facility existed in Princes Town, modern, clean, up to date, with great patient service.

The following letter was published today in the Daily Express Newspaper, praising the staff at Area Hospital Point Fortin.
