Promoting Breastfeeding at the Gran Couva Health Centre

Registered Nurse Claudette Stanisclaus culminated breastfeeding presentations at the Gran Couva Health Centre on August 29th, 2019. These lectures were held every Thursday morning during the month of August, as part of the Health Centre’s annual Breastfeeding Programme. The Programme targeted persons from the Gran Couva Community and aimed to educate parents on the benefits of breastfeeding. The final presentation was focused on fathers and the importance of their support during a woman’s pregnancy and post labour. She urged soon-to-be fathers to encourage as well as motivate their partners. These presentations are in keeping with this year’s World Breastfeeding Week theme, “Empower Parents, Enable Breastfeeding”.
