International Children`s Day: Our Children Imprint Our Hearts

“Our Children Imprint our Hearts” was the theme of International Children’s Day 2018, celebrations hosted by staff on the Paediatric Wards at the San Fernando General and Teaching Hospital on November 20th, 2018. Registered Nurses Carolyn Ramkelawan, Sabita Maharaj, Jennise Whiteman and treated the children to a puppet show and joined them in singing “If you happy and you know it”. The programme, which was coordinated by Ms. Priya Reshma Ramdin, Assistant Head Nurse and nursing staff on the Paediatric Wards, aimed to empower children on the ward, to understand that they are special and important. Children painted their hands and placed it on a white cloth draped on the wall of Ward 14B as a symbol of the impression these children have made and continue to make in the hearts of the nurses and staff working on these wards.
