World Blood Day at Blood Bank 2018

The Blood Bank at the San Fernando General and Teaching Hospital recognised this year’s Blood Donor’s Day by recognising donors. World Blood Donor Day, celebrated June 14th annually, serves to thank voluntary blood donors for their life-saving gifts of blood and to raise awareness of the need for regular blood donations to ensure the quality, safety and availability of blood for patients. Blood Bank staff gave tokens of appreciation to voluntary donors, and staff from the Pathology Lab, the Ward 2 Clinic also conducted short presentations. The theme of this year’s World Blood Donor Day campaign was “Be there for someone else. Give blood. Share life.
