The Princes Town District Health Facility celebrated Emancipation Day on July 26th, 2019 with a lively programme to observe the contributions made by African ancestors to the culture and fabric of Trinidad and Tobago. Staff gathered to the call of the African drums and songs led by Mr. Twelde Matas, Health Records Clerk and his drumming team. The programme commenced with an interactive presentation from Dr. Kavi Ali, on Emancipation who highlighted the richness of the African heritage and the history of African slaves in Trinidad and Tobago. Staff also modelled their African wear to the beat of the drums.
