FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Temporary disruption of electrical services at the SFGH

San Fernando, 25th April 2019: The South-West Regional Health Authority would like to advise that the electrical services at the San Fernando General Hospital were briefly interrupted earlier this evening.
This disruption was due to an issue with the electrical main panel at the facility. As a precautionary measure, a substitute breaker was immediately sourced and installed. In order for this installation to take place, electrical services were disrupted at the facility for an estimated four (4) hours while the new breaker was being connected.
The SWRHA would like to reassure the public that with the use of the standby generator, all services continued as normal as appropriate contingency measures were immediately implemented to ensure that patient care was not compromised. Full electrical services were restored at approximately 8:20 p.m.
The South-West Regional Health Authority takes this opportunity to express its gratitude to our dedicated staff for their immediate response and apologize to our patients and staff for any inconvenience caused.
