GM Nursing SWRHA delivers Keynote address in Japan
The South-West Regional Health Authority was astutely represented at the 7th World Congress on Midwifery and Women’s Health in Osaka, Japan by Mrs. Kathyann Thomas-Elbourne, General Manager Nursing. The theme of this congress which took place from 11th to 12th May, 2018 was ‘Caring for Women and New-borns with Skill and Compassion’.
As a keynote speaker delivering a her detailed research paper on “Menopausal Transition and its association with the quality of life of women aged 40-55 of varying ethnicity in County St Patrick West, Trinidad: a Community based survey”, Mrs. Elbourne has ensured that the SWRHA and by the extension the nation has contributed to shaping a new health landscape.
She was also privileged to chair sessions that addressed key health areas: Midwifery; Childbirth; Pregnancy; Family Planning; Maternal and Child Health. Women’s Health; Reproductive Health; Maternal and Child Health; Post Natal Care; and Postpartum Depression.
