Staff at the Flanagin Town Health Centre in collaboration with the Flanagin Town Health Centre Diabetic and Wellness Group continued their thrust to promote and encourage healthy living, raise awareness of the importance of making healthy choices and foster health education among primary school children in the Flanagin Town community.

Their fourth annual Health Education Competition was held on June 27th, 2019 at the Health Centre. Students from four Primary Schools- Flanagin Town RC, Flanagin Town RC, Brasso RC, Mamoral RC and Brasso Venado Government- participated in this year’s programme, which focused attention on the theme, Child Abuse.

Thirty-nine students participated in the Poster Competition which showcased their creativity and presented a forum for students to express their individual perspectives on Child Abuse. During the Spoken Word competition, the students delivered lyrical verses to the delight of the audience of approximately 50 persons. The Challenge Trophy was awarded to this year’s overall winner, Flanagin Town RC Primary School.
