CLU hosts Diabetes Easter Camp

The Community Liaison Unit hosted its 11th annual Diabetes Easter Camp on April 8th and 9th, 2019 at the San Fernando General Hospital for the children of the South-West Life Changers Youth Group and their parents. This two-day camp addressed health issues that could affect young people with Diabetes Mellitus.

The workshop was held on the first day and it served as a platform for encouraging proper diabetes management, healthy lifestyles choices and techniques for mentally coping with this non-communicable disease. On day two the campers enjoyed a fun day out at C3 Centre where they were also treated to a movie.

Regional Manager Liaison Services, Ms. Jacqueline Charles, encouraged campers to use the information and their experience at the camp to motivate them to achieve success because they could be future Prime Ministers, sporting heroes or some other influential figure.
