Mahatma Ghandi once said, “The true measure of any society can be found in how it treats its most vulnerable members.” This statement bears much truth especially when it comes to caring for shut-in or ‘bed bound’ patients suffering from strokes, cerebral palsy, brain and spinal cord injuries, accidents and terminal diseases like cancer etc. Even with the best of intentions it can be easy for caregivers to lose patience, not feel appreciated, or become overwhelmed when caring for patients or loved ones who are bed bound.
